The King of Fruits: St. Xavier Students Celebrate Mango Day Under CCA Activity

Summer at St. Xavier High School just got a lot sweeter! This week, our Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) hour was dedicated to everyone’s favorite seasonal delight: the Mango. Students traded their textbooks for paintbrushes and craft supplies to celebrate the “King of Fruits” in a vibrant display of creativity and school spirit.

A Splash of Yellow: Mango Poster Making

The primary wing was transformed into a sun-kissed gallery as students participated in a Mango Poster Making Competition. From realistic botanical sketches to imaginative characters, the posters highlighted:

  • The Nutritional Value of Mangoes: Fun facts about vitamins and health.

  • Varieties of India: Artistic representations of Alphonso, Dasheri, Langra, and more.

  • Save Our Orchards: Messages promoting the planting of fruit-bearing trees.

Creative Hands-On Stuff

Beyond posters, the creativity reached new heights with various “Mango-themed” crafts. Using recycled materials, clay, and paper, students created:

  • 3D Mango Models: Realistic clay moldings that looked good enough to eat!

  • Eco-Friendly Mango Masks: Hand-painted masks for role-playing activities.

  • Mango Poetry Cards: Short, sweet verses written in both Hindi and English celebrating the taste of summer.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

The goal of this CCA activity was to combine fun with functional learning. While students explored their artistic talents, they also learned about the importance of seasonal eating and the rich agricultural heritage of our region.

A Sweet Success

The enthusiasm was infectious, proving that when learning is paired with something as beloved as mangoes, the results are always fruitful. The event concluded with a “Mango Talk,” where students shared their favorite ways to enjoy the fruit—from fresh slices to refreshing Aam Panna.

At St. Xavier High School, we believe in nurturing every child’s creative spark through activities that are as refreshing as a cool breeze on a summer afternoon.

“Aam” (Common) fruit, but “Khaas” (Special) talent! Well done, Xaverians!
